Updated Taxonomy statement – Arthrobacter globiformis (AG)

Jan 14, 2019

Lallemand Specialty Cultures (LSC) has recently performed a taxonomic verification of its strains, particularly those obtained through the acquisition of the La Ferté-sous-Jouarre / Sept-Sorts sites. The following information was revealed.

The strain AG, previously described as Arthrobacter globiformis now belongs to the arilaitensis specie described in 2005 in International Journal of Systematic and Evolutionary Microbiology (2005), 55, 457–462.

Moreover, the taxonomy of the Arthrobacter genus was reviewed in 2016 (International Journal of Systematic and Evolutionary Microbiology (2016), 66, 9–37) and described under the new genus Glutamicibacter and specie Glutamicibacter arilaitensis.

Consequently, the strain Arthrobacter globiformis (AG) is reclassified as Glutamicibacter arilaitensis.

This strain is included in the composition of the blends FLAV-ANTAGE® FAA1, FAA4, FAPM and FETRX1. Their Technical Data Sheets have been updated accordingly.
